Darren Evans is a strategic leader and global risk and resilience professional with almost 30 years’ experience across several continents and numerous industries including defence, construction, manufacturing, insurance, financial services, power generation and transmission, aviation and mass transportation. Darren specialises in safety and security risk and organisational resilience, holding master’s degrees in Business Continuity, Security & Emergency Management, and Terrorism & Political Violence. As well as the Risk Management Society (RIMS), he is also a Recognised Safety Practitioner (RSP) with the International Institute for Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM) and is a full member of the Institute of Directors (IOD NZ), the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI). Darren’s current role is that of General Manager Safety & Medical for Air New Zealand, he is married with two teenage children, and resides in Auckland New Zealand.
